"On the brink of a meltdown from months worth of frustration, Bren came out to help us design and install what is now the most beautiful, natural rain garden/frog bog/dry creek bed, that it left my neighbors in awe. We had a picture in mind of how we wanted things to look but couldn’t quite figure it out. Within MINUTES Bren was able to bring our vision to life and more! She also provided all the plants we needed to further assist with the issues we were having with the excess water and erosion. Everything was explained thoroughly and she was open to our thoughts and ideas throughout the design/installation process. Our problem area has completely transformed from a nasty muddy mess into something so beautiful and full of life. We even added in some medicinal shrubs/plants, as well as fruit and nut trees that we will get to enjoy, while watching the wildlife enjoy our piece of haven as much as we are. It is finally an area we can say we’re proud of and enjoy having. Bren was super courteous, flexible, knowledgeable and takes pride in all she does. We could not have been happier working with Kindred Acres. Therefore, I CANNOT recommend Kindred Acres enough! We are so thankful we listened to all recommendations given. If I ever need design ideas, plants or help installing my plants, Kindred Acres will be who I contact. We can always trust that the work will be done correctly and with love. "

" Kindred Acres Food Forest Testimonial “Food forest” can mean a lot of different things to people. To me it means installing useful plants. Useful plants can be fruit, nut, herbs, medicinals, pollinators, and vegetables. Having such a landscape was on my list, but it seemed very complicated and time consuming for me to design, identify, source, and install the plants. Having a full time job and family responsibilities I thought it would accelerate my plans by getting some assitance. I have been following Kindred Acres on Facebook for a while, and saw they offer design and installation services. I’m usually quite interested in the details and doing things myself, but in this case I let Kindred Acres run with the design and install the plants. Bren and Maureen came to my house and installed more plants and bushes in one day than I could have imagined. They also installed plants I would never have considered in my landscape. I’m very happy with the price and the result. "

"I have been a huge fan of Kindred Acres since moving to North Carolina. I discovered Bren on Facebook and started following her. She has such a wealth of knowledge! I look for her updates daily to try to learn from her. When she started offering the design plans for the Food Forest I immediately signed up! She came to my house, we went over what I was looking for. I have a small yard and have to be conscientious. She took all of that into account and together drew the plans. I am looking forward to her plant sale in the spring so I can get many of the plants that we discussed. I chose to do the installation myself as I like to get my hands dirty. But I know, where to go for advice and for the amazing medicinal plants, herbs, fruits, pollinator plants and anything amazing, Kindred Acres!"

" I came across Kindred Acres on Etsy years ago when we had just moved to a property that needed a lot of outside work, was thrilled to find out Bren was so close. From the very first purchase, I was impressed with the service, the quality of the plants and products grown without any chemicals, and all delivered with knowledge on how to help them thrive. Bren is so generous sharing the methods she has fully invested in learning, and really meets you where you are in your journey. I have taken advantage of many plant sales, lots of garden tea, classes, and the Kindred Acres design services. My soil has improved and brought back a wonderful little ecosystem on our property. We didn’t see many signs of life when we first moved here, now the birds, frogs, lizards and healthy insects are abundant. We have productive gardens each year, pollinator plants and interesting fruit trees. I recommend Kindred Acres to friends looking for just a few vegetables plants that will do well in our region, to add color to a tough spot, looking to grow an abundance of food or make their own little sanctuary.
