All of the plants and seeds available in our shop are cultivated right here on our permaculture food forest at Kindred Acres Homestead. As the holidays roll in, we’re busy plotting and planning our Spring 2025 Subscription—and we’re making it extra special! Keep an eye out for holiday deals to make it even sweeter.  

Here’s what you’ll get with our Homestead Co-op subscription:  

Each month, you’ll receive: 

 • One homestead item: This could be a salve, tincture, dried or fresh herbs, a jar of jam, recipe samples, or access to how-to videos.  

• Plant of the month: At least one plant (often more!).  

• One seed pack.  

• One soil-building item: Think worm castings, compost tea, or a KNF solution.  

That’s a minimum of four items monthly, with the possibility of bonus goodies!  

Plus exclusive perks for co-op members:   

• Access to optional add-ons like specialty plants (exclusive or discounted), farm-fresh honey, eggs, seasonal fresh flower bouquets, and more.

Details:   

• Spring 2025 Subscription: $150 for three months (March, April, May). Optional upgrades/add-ons available monthly.  

• Pick-Up Locations:  

• On the first Sunday of each month * Kindred Acres (929 Lee Rd., Clayton)  (10 AM–7 PM).  • Raleigh (near Crabtree Mall, exact address provided upon registration) at 10:30 AM only.  

• Registration is open now through January 31, 2025, or until spots are filled.

  Fresh Worm Castings AND OR  Fresh Kindred Acres Compost Tea Available for local pickup in Clayton, NC!  

Our Kindred Acres Compost Tea is a highly active, all-natural fertilizer brewed with a commercial-grade aeration system. We ensure its quality by regularly checking it under a microscope for biological activity.  This concentrated tea can be diluted for use as a root drench or a foliar spray, making it a versatile and effective solution for your garden.  

How to Use:  

1. Start with a 5-gallon bucket of non-chlorinated water.

2. Add the concentrate, mix, and apply:

      • Around the base of your plants as a root drench. 

     • In a sprayer for foliar application.  For best results, apply immediately after pickup or store in a refrigerator for no more than 24 hours.

Worm Castings: 

Known as "black gold" for good reason, worm castings provide plants with essential nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium.  These castings improve soil structure, water retention, and promote healthier root systems.  They're an all-natural way to give your plants the nourishment they need. 

Worm castings are freshly sifted upon order request and are available for $5 per pound.

My order was shipped promptly, but due to the current state of our world, I received my package a few days after it was expected. Upon opening the package, I was pleased to find the bare roots still fresh, damp, and separated. The roots were not tangled together. I planted them the following morning and within a few days, I started to see signs of new growth. I contacted Bren a few times with questions. Each time, she responded quickly and offered advice and encouragement! I will definitely buy from her Etsy shop again!
