• Natural soil amendments and fertilizers that support healthy, living soil

Composting 101 – Exploring Multiple Methods for Real Life & Real Gardens

Because of the incredible interest in this class, I’m excited to offer it again!

This is a great beginner class for anyone who wants to better understand the many different ways composting can actually look in real life.

In this class, you’ll learn a brief overview of 8 different composting methods (plus a few bonus options), what each method produces, and how they compare to one another.

We will:
• Compare and contrast multiple composting methods
• Talk about the end results of each method
• Help you understand the pros and cons of different approaches
• Give you the information you need to decide which composting method(s) will best fit your space, lifestyle, and goals

This is a broad overview class, not a deep dive into any single method. The goal is to give you a clear starting point so you can decide which methods you’d like to explore further and put into practice.

You’ll also get to see most of these composting systems in progress, and in some cases, the finished product.

> This class is perfect for:
Beginners, homesteaders, gardeners, and anyone wanting to build healthier soil in a practical and realistic way.

> Class length: Approximately 2 hours
(Depending on questions, it may run slightly shorter or longer.)

> Cost: $45 per person

> Scholarship spot available
We will have one scholarship spot available.
If you are unable to afford the class but feel it would truly benefit you, please message us to see if the scholarship spot is still open.

What to expect:

Observation in Permaculture – Learning to See Your Land

Come learn about one of the most important — and often overlooked — foundations of permaculture: observation.

In this outdoor, hands-on class, we’ll focus on how to slow down and truly read the land. You’ll learn what to look for, how to observe patterns in nature, and simple, practical steps you can start using right away on your own property or garden.

We’ll cover:
• What to look for when observing your land
• How to observe patterns, relationships, and changes over time
• Simple ways to begin building an observation practice you can actually maintain

This class is designed for beginners and anyone who wants to deepen their connection with their land before making changes, planting, or designing.

> Feel free to bring a notepad and something to write with.

> Please bring a canteen or water bottle.
This is an outdoor class and it may be warm, so dress accordingly.
I recommend wearing boots, as some of our walking will be through woods and muddy areas.

> Out of respect for our plants and bees, please apply any bug spray or sunscreen before arriving.
We also ask that you avoid strong scents, and especially avoid lemon-scented products, as we have an abundance of bees on the property.

> Parking & arrival:
Please park along the side of Cozy Brook Ct, which is directly across from our driveway.
